Company overview

OrionStar Robotics (猎户星空) is a Beijing-based robotics company founded in September 2016 by Sheng Fu (傅盛), focused on AI-powered service robotics. The company has evolved from voice-interactive and service robots into a broader portfolio covering reception, delivery, industrial logistics, retail service and AI Agent robots. OrionStar currently reports 60,000+ robots deployed, serving 20,000+ customers globally across 60+ countries and regions, with deployments spanning 20+ scenarios including corporate reception, exhibitions, healthcare, retail, government services and libraries. These are company-reported figures. OrionStar's recent strategy is moving from conventional service robots toward AI Agent-enabled robots, with 2026 products integrating large-model capabilities and the company's AgentOS robot operating system.

About the founder — Sheng Fu (傅盛)

Sheng Fu (傅盛) founded OrionStar in September 2016 following his decision to focus on AI and robotics. He previously built and led Cheetah Mobile, which initially invested in OrionStar. His background is primarily in internet software and AI rather than traditional industrial robotics. Fu has described his 2016 decision as an “All in AI” move, with AI and robotics becoming the company's strategic direction. His approach emphasizes breaking robotics into practical technical modules and bringing them into real-world applications.

Founder thesis

Build useful robots around specific real-world tasks → combine AI, software and hardware → deploy into commercial scenarios → accumulate operational experience → progressively increase robot intelligence.

Company evolution

2016

Founded in Beijing in September, focusing on AI and service robotics.

2017–18

Launched early products including Leopard Little Secretary and Leopard Little Vendor; Cheetah Mobile became a strategic investor and worldwide distributor.

2018

Established commercial partnerships including Xiaomi; Leopard Little Secretary entered Xiaomi stores, alongside cooperation with SOHO China, 58.com and others.

2019

Entered a Series B financing agreement and reported more than 5,000 robots serving 800+ customers.

2020

Expanded healthcare and delivery deployments, including Peking University Shougang Hospital and Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital during COVID-19.

2021–22

Cheetah Mobile provided a RMB100M convertible loan in 2021; another financing round followed in 2022 as the portfolio expanded across delivery, hospitality, retail and commercial scenarios.

2023–24

Broadened deployments across hospitality, healthcare, government services, exhibitions and industrial delivery; received new financing in January 2024.

2025–26

Shifted toward AI Agent robots with AgentOS, large-model capabilities and DeepSeek integration; launched Leopard Little Secretary Lite and Pro and a robot Agent Store in 2026.

Strategic evolution

From voice AI and conventional commercial service robots toward AI Agent-enabled robots that combine enterprise knowledge, large-model reasoning and physical task execution.

04

Customer & deployment evidence

OrionStar reports 60,000+ robots deployed for 20,000+ customers across 60+ countries and regions and more than 20 application scenarios. It also reports 5.5B+ total service interactions or person-times and 17M+ daily voice interactions. These figures are company-reported and should not be interpreted as independently audited installed-base figures.

Retail & Brand Stores

Publicly referenced deployments include Xiaomi stores and Honor flagship stores.

Hospitality & Catering

Zhaocaibao supports restaurant reception, marketing and delivery, while Leopard Delivery targets hotel and service delivery.

Healthcare

Deployments include Peking University Shougang Hospital, Hangzhou Rehabilitation Hospital and Air Force Characteristic Medical Center for guidance, information and delivery.

Government & Public Services

The Yangzhou Smart Government Service Hall case covers daily reception, wayfinding and guidance.

Industrial & Logistics

Leopard Factory Pass is a delivery AMR for factories, warehouses and logistics centers, with VSLAM, multi-robot coordination and payloads up to 100 kg.

Global Scale

Company-reported reach spans 60+ countries and regions, 20,000+ customers and 20+ application scenarios.

05

Client case | Honor Flagship Store

AI-powered retail service robot for Honor

OrionStar publicly documents a deployment at an Honor flagship store, where the robot acts as an AI-powered retail assistant. The robot proactively greets visitors using multimodal perception, answers product questions using the company's knowledge base, manages queues through natural-language interaction, guides customers to relevant product or service areas, and provides basic front-line support when human sales staff are occupied. Why the case matters: it illustrates OrionStar's shift from a traditional mobile service robot toward an AI-powered digital employee for physical environments, combining perception, natural-language interaction, enterprise knowledge, task execution and physical navigation.
06
